Hotel ADLER, over a century
For over a century the hotel ADLER is destination for many travellers from
all over the world. Over a hundred years ago travelling was quite different than
today. At that time, the horse powered carriages stopped directly in front of
the hotel, delivering mail and changing the horses. After this difficult ride on
dusty roads from Bolzano to Passo Carezza, refreshments were very welcome. Also
hikers coming down from the huts of the meadows of Carezza and farmers going
from Nova Levante to there stopped at the ADLER. Date back to 1862 some
testimonies of hikers narrate about the traditional week of huts, which were
very practiced in those days, where locals and hikers met and celebrated with
music and dancing.
Since the 1950 travel started to boom because of flourishing economy, better
roads and faster private luxury vehicles. Everyone could take advantage to
enjoying the beauty of the mountain. Since the 1950 also the winter tourism
began and years to follow the mountain holiday became more and more popular. But
the needs of visitors changed soon and so also the equipment for the lodges. In
1984 the big renovation phase was completed and made Hotel ADLER to a very
modern building able to cope with future demands. Since then, in addition to
this modern structure, further improvements were made and will be made, so that
the hotel and its integrity of services are meeting our customers requests.
